Citius, Altius, Fortius

Citius, Altius, Fortius, which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger", has been the Olympic motto since the start of the modern games. The enhancement of BMA's extraction towers could be said to be driven by a similar spirit. With yet larger dimensions and additional capacity, the enhanced series provides even more flexibility and efficiency in extraction. The first tower is currently being manufactured, soon ready for shipment.

BMA has produced more than 360 towers since the early 1950s, making the plant engineering experts from Germany the undisputed market leader in technical extraction equipment for the beet sugar industry. These days, many factories in Europe are relying on new extraction towers with daily processing rates of 12,000 to 14,000 tons of beet. So the enhanced extraction tower from BMA is ahead of its time, with a capacity that has been increased to almost 18,000 tons per day! This has been achieved with a considerably enlarged diameter of 13.6 m in combination with an extraction length of 25 m, making the tower the most powerful extraction plant available on the global market today.

Production in Braunschweig has been running at full speed since the first quarter of 2016. The first tower with the new diameter will be shipped shortly, for a project in Africa. With the extraction length limited by local conditions, the required capacity can be achieved only with the maximum diameter of 13.6 m. "In another location, it would be possible to extend the tower later to reach the maximum capacity of 18,000 tons of beet per day", says Uwe Schwanke, one of BMA's directors. That would surely earn BMA a gold medal in the category "processing capacity".
